Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan

We are a partner with Anaplan, and we implement the tool extensively across a multitude of clients. These clients range across a variety of industries. Some of the most common instances we've come across are financial planning & supply chain management (among many others). In all cases, Anaplan has drastically reduced forecast times for our clients. Anaplan is very usable, both from a model builder & administrative perspective, as well as for end users. Over the past year, there have been many back end enhancements to the model & app itself that have allowed for better interfaces. On the user side, it is very comparable to excel in terms of how it's interacted with. This allows even the most 'green' users to quickly adapt to a new tool. This allows successful consumer buy-in, which eliminates a lot of hurdles typically encountered in planning tool implementations.
Anaplan was a much more robust calculation engine. While Pigment was a flexible solution, it appeared less powerful than the Anaplan offering. This was a key aspect of our evaluation. Also, Anaplan does not sacrifice intuitiveness or usability to accommodate for the calculation capability. Anaplan continues to stand out against the competition, and this is just one of the latest examples.

Well suited: Anaplan is well suited for any instance where a company has a convoluted forecasting process they want to streamline. Anaplan can replicate forecast logic & allow analysts & executives to spend time in more valuable areas of focus, like scenario planning. Less appropriate: I've found it less appropriate to use Anaplan if clients want to just look at vast data in a reporting-only structure. Anaplan is best used when the calculation engine is shown off so organizations can streamline their process. Not just view data differently.
