Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We started using Avast Business Antivirus when we first moved our accounting systems over to internet enabled computers (yes, we were air-gapped). I had used the personal free edition on my home computers and as the IT administrator for our corporate group, I chose to use the business version for our office computers. It worked great and was very easy to setup and configure.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (formerly Microsoft Defender ATP)

If you've gone all in with Microsoft 365 then Avast Business Antivirus starts to look less useful and at best provides secondary coverage. We made the switch recently as the feature set in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is deeper and can provide a lot more insight across the whole company. Avast Business Antivirus is great for a small to medium sized businesses.

I think Avast Business Antivirus is well suited for small to medium sized businesses where IT administration is more hands on. Though it may be possible, I've not found a way to be able to push out the program to new computers automatically and typically have had to manually install the program. The notifications of issue is really great and resolving issues in the cloud console is intuitive and easy.
