Overall Satisfaction with Bitbucket

Bitbucket is used almost across the entire organization as the version control tool of choice.
  • It has a nice intuitive web UI
  • It has several clients for Windows, Linux and Mac
  • It is a full-featured Git client that allows one to perform all Git operations seamlessly
  • At the moment there are no big issues I see with bitbucket, at least not from the use cases that we use it for
  • It helps perform all Git operations, which is exactly what we need
  • It is fast and responsive and hence doesn't [get] in the way of our development workflow
I have used Gitblit and GitHub apart from bitbucket. The only thing bitbucket lacks is the ability to create issues against commits like GitHub issues and a similar feature in Gitblit.
It is well suited for any team that needs a Git-based version control system. It is also great if the organization's tool stack involves Atlassian's tools. It is not appropriate for teams that require some other version control system that is not Git-based.
