Overall Satisfaction with Bitbucket

Bitbucket was being used for all projects across data and engineering team. The goal was to store files and software codes in a common place where easy to see any version of each file or documents while keeping the easy integration with other business management products. Our company has already chosen Atlassian products like Jira, so the development can also link source code branches created by Bitbucket.
  • Easy integration
  • Use git SCM under the hood
  • Works really well with other Atlassian products
  • Custom themes for the online websites like dark
  • Twitter channel for outage or issues
  • Specific Slack group for users to share issues or best practices
  • Great option for startups
  • Fit well with other Atlassian products
  • No need for git commands, any person can easily use it via great UI
Bitbucket is very similar to Gitlab, so none of them are better. If you need similar products and great integrations then Bitbucket with Jira and Confluence from Atlassian is a great choice for a medium size company. For startups I can recommend Gitlab or Bitbucket, because of both have private repos and built in issue handling.
If you have already any of Atlassian product installed like JIRA or confluence then Bitbucket is a nice straightforward fit. Easy to create software branches in connection with any task or epic defined in Jira, so its immediately visible for product owners and any developer can check related changes. Not appropriate if you have already using other tool like Gitlab or paid GitHub alternatives, but you can definitely cut costs if you have small teams of 5 people, because you can have unlimited private repos as well, not like in GitHub.
