Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT

I have used Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT for 5 years. I appreciate Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT more than the database view but understand the importance of both. I utilize all of the accounting functions and like the user-friendly interface. There have been times when the functions that we need are momentarily down, but Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT is good at communicating these issues and the status of resolutions through the status webpage. The knowledgebase page is very helpful for common issues that other users have had. I look forward to what Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT has to offer with the conversion to Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT from the database.
  • Excel to Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT integration and add ins
  • Attachment allowance with Journal Entries and Invoices
  • Journal Entry line movement functionality
  • Database functions that do not exist in Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, like custom reports
  • Query only available in database
  • A lot of processes have been streamlined
  • The costs are high, but the benefits outweigh the cost
We don't receive much in donor/funder relations, but the internal controls being customizable help with our smaller organization.
The custom dashboards are helpful in that everyone likes to see their dashboards differently and can do so on their own terms. I do wish there was a way to view "not yet posted" GL entries when viewing individual accounts. However, viewing individual accounts and being able to see the budget to actual spending also is really useful.
Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT allows for multiple companies/entities to be tracked much easier than Quickbooks allowed. The online capabilities in Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT were also much more useful.

Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT is well suited for our organization involved in investment income and grantmaking. I have also used this system with a non-profit school and found it to be very useful. There are many functions that are able to add as needed to Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT which has also been very helpful.
