BMC AMI Data for IMS
Overall Satisfaction with BMC AMI Data
We use BMC’s Backup and Recovery Solution for IMS for one of our clients. For our larger client, the Ministry of Transportation, we also rely on MAXM Reorg/EP, IMS Pointer Checker Plus, and File-AID for zOS, IMS, and DB2. Across most of our mainframe clients we use BMC AMI Ops for IMS, BMC AMI Ops for zOS, and general mainframe system programming services. I feel that some of our clients do not take full advantage of the full functionality available in these BMC tools.
Pros
- IMS backup and recovery resolution improve the efficiency
- Supports very precise recovery, which lowers risk and minimizes data loss.
- IMS Log analyzer provides information we need
Cons
- automated online snapshot backup and recovery
- review and improve Disaster Recovery solution
- utilize more from tool offers
- improve the availability, consistency and efficiency
- still not fully utilized the functionality that tool provides
- lots to learn for automation and AI/ML etc.
