Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Aironet 3800 Series Access Points

The Cisco 3802 series Lightweight Access Points (LAPS) are being used in our organization for wireless access, to both the Corporate network and Guest Internet services. They are deployed throughout buildings, in either the internal or external antenna configurations at the recommended distance intervals specified by Cisco. These LAPs address the issues of network connectivity in areas/rooms that are either remote or densely populated, preventing easy wired access.
  • Ease of configuration when used as a LAP.
  • Excellent wireless range for clients.
  • Provided mounting hardware makes installation easy.
  • The 3802 is rather large compared to previous models.
  • Mesh is not supported in this model.
  • We have never had a Cisco 3802 LAP fail so the ROI is very good.
  • The 3802 LAP saves time and money versus running CAT6.
  • The 3802 LAP has very good range and speed for the price.
The Cisco 3802 product performance is excellent. Not only for the speed and range of the wireless it provides, but also for the fact that - when deployed in a large scale environment - the performance does not fail. It provides the same network connectivity for users ranging from 1 to 30-plus concurrent connections.
Upgrading and maintaining the Cisco 3802 is very straightforward and easy. When centrally managed by a Cisco Wirless LAN Controller (WLC), IOS upgrades are painless. Based on how you configure the 3802 on the controller, software and IOS upgrades may be performed either by an individual or group basis.
These Cisco 3802 models are very well suited for interior deployments, whether small medium or large. The range and speed make for a very nice compliment to any wired LAN design. Compliment that with the management functionality that comes with a Cisco controller, and overall the 3802 is a perfect addition to any network.
