Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI)
I have been using Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure since generation 1 and have seen it mature greatly. Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure centralizes the control plane into a cluster of APICs. The product allows centralized management of next generation data center fabrics. This saves time, results in less errors and outages. I highly recommend using Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure for a data center fabric.
Pros
- Centralized management
- Optimizing east west flows
- Adding Security into the network
Cons
- Documentation
- Support
- Ease of use
- Greater TCO
- Greater security
- Less downtime
Less downtime, reduce complexity and greater security
Automation in Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure helps streamline deployments. Postman and the restAPI are both great options to help do the automation. Entire deployment of a fabric can be scripted. Developers can be given access to run automation against the fabric creating their own enviorments with ACI constructions saving time and money.
