Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI)
We are using ACI fabric for our DC LAN in our 2 data centers to connect all workloads, unlike earlier we used to have separate hardware for security requirements., ACI fabric has helped us to use single fabric but providing required security through tenants, by virtually segregating and removing the need of physical segregation security requirements.
Pros
- Single Fabric and virtual security or segregation
- Security Policies or micro segmentation
- Operations and management
Cons
- Troubleshooting
- Operations visibility
- Single Deployment for multiple ports with same configurations
- Deployment Time has reduced by reusing policies
- Negative i would say where we have same requirements of deployment on multiple ports we miss the CLI or otherwise the confidence or simplicity to use the template
Deployment Time has reduced to implement for the critical and urgent workloads where server team takes huge time but when it comes to network re-use existing policies for new ports and done
Application centric has given visibility on the areas which were grey and helped to deploy and talk in terms of application with business. this helps in understanding the requirements and executing it.
