Overall Satisfaction with Cisco ASA

We provide private and public cloud services to various clients and we manage and maintain their network. We use Cisco ASA firewall in transparent and routed mode. The customer servers are authenticated using Cisco ASA, we use Cisco ASA models of 5505, 5515X, 5525-X and 5585-X. It is used across the whole organization and we use Cisco AnyConnect and SSL point to point VPNs. Our customers use VPN sessions to access their servers over the public network.
  • It provides duo authentication.
  • SSL VPN,Web based VPN.
  • DMZ, two layer protection.
  • NAT Rules.
  • We are happy with Cisco ASA, but would appreciate if they had better ASDM and anti spoofing technologies like Checkpoint appliances.
  • It provides better customer service and is definitely easy to manage. It is easy define rules and configure.
  • The throughput of the product is very good.
The Easy VPN hardware client configuration specifies the IP address of its primary and secondary (backup) Easy VPN servers. Any ASA, including another ASA 5505 configured as a headend, a VPN 3000 Series Concentrator, an IOS-based router, or a firewall can act as an Easy VPN server. An ASA 5505 cannot, however function as both a client and a server simultaneously.
There are many scenarios where Cisco ASA is well suited like in our private cloud set up where we set up individual Cisco ASA boxes for different customers in routed mode. It makes life easy to manage their network and we provide access to the box so that they can customize their own setup.
