Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN

  • Saving from not requiring MPLS connections
  • Increased uptime with 4G LTE backup
  • Free up staffing resources by 60%
  • No downtime saves us up to $30,000 per year
Good management tools, embedded security and easy automation. We particularly like the speed of recovering a device if need be. The templates being linked to serial numbers is a fantastic idea. The cost benefits are most significant to us as we no longer require expensive MPLS links to each site and each site has 4G LTE inbuilt.
SD-WAN vs traditional routing is so much more advanced and interesting. Centralised management of devices makes everything easy to deploy, especially across hundreds of locations. The security is very similar, but I feel the network performance is improved and the setup is less command line heavy. Traditional routers also don't have inbuilt LTE connections for redundancy.

Do you think Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN again?

Yes

Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN is well suited in multi site offices. This works well for us with over 480 remote sites connecting back to a secure data centre. Less appropriate scenarios would be for small businesses with not many remote branches, limited budgets, or resources. They may not want to invest in such a complex environment. Cisco have Meraki options that would suit better.
