Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches

we use them in the access layer to connect all kinds of devices like clients, access points, printers, security cameras and other IoT devices. clients will authenticate using dot1x and ISE and other devices connect with MAB.

Pros

  • dot1x and MAB configuration
  • configuring the devices using automation

Cons

  • the API could be better
  • i don't know that
cisco devices are a lot easier to configure than the other vendors. also the community is a lot larger with cisco

i would use them when i have to create a campus network and connect lots of different devices.
i wouldn't use them when the budget is limited
