Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches
We use Cisco Catalyst Switches for the LAN connectivity at our locations layer 2 and 3. They don't have any problems but we want to find ways to automate and get better use for Cisco Catalyst Switches. We are in our LCP process and we didn't have a demo of the 4000's model which we found out to have different commands and we struggled a bit with new installations as we were not familiar with that model.
Pros
- Easy to do manual code upgrade, 9000's are user friendly for that
- Easy to configure
- Reliable connectivity
Cons
- We encountered issues with stacking them, that need to be improved
- When doing LCP some configuration won't copy over
- Port should have pre configuration options
- We lost money as we did a survey wrong we could have 9400s instead of 4 9300s
- Very efficient on LAN we save money when going wifi first
- We save money with catalysts over NEXUS
- ThousandEyes
- Cisco DNA Center
We use Cisco for all our enterprises. We are starting to use it to get our DNA up and running after a failed upgrade that made us lost all our DNA already built environment. Cisco is currently also helping us to get started with ThousandEyes, and we are looking forward to detecting all users' issues.
It had helped us with automation and hopefully will help us to fix some users issues we are just starting using DNA Center and ThousandEyes.
