Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches

We are primary using these switches as access-switches. Also routing for the smaller locations.
The disadvantage of these switches is that there are actually to many bugs at every new release.

Pros

  • Switching
  • Routing
  • Wireless

Cons

  • To many bugs at every new release
  • All switches have a serial port in stead of only a USB (USB may, but serial must)
  • Licenses are sometimes more expensive then the switch/router
  • Because of the licensing looks like the ROI is more increasing
We can rack/stack etc. Just like we did before. No firework in progress looks like.
Data security is more for our firewalls then for access-switches
They are working fine, some are unfortunately a bigger footprint then the previous models.
