Cisco Spaces Locating the Future
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Spaces
We are working on implementing Cisco Spaces from both wayfinding within buildings, but also for its environmental sensor displays using Cisco's latest version of AP's. To be able to overlay temperature and Air quality in not only the office space, but also the our manufacturing area is very exciting.
Pros
- Digital Maping
- Location Tracking
- Wayfinding
- Outputting data via Firehose API
- Integrating with IOT devices
Cons
- Documentation on implementing Firehose API. (how to output the Key for on Prem solution)
- Syncing with DNA Center
- Location Hierarchy editing
- Very positive on giving us a easy way to constantly monitor Air quality
- Very positive on enabling Location tracking on devices
- Very positive on enabling BLE tracking
Asset locator has been beneficial when trying to locate users that are reporting wifi issues as to where they may be when experiencing the issue. It has helped weed out interference issues.
Having the tie into Cisco Spaces is helpful as we are trying to use it as our main hub of information. They one place to go for configuration and troubleshooting. Giving the location information to to Catalyst center so they can track objects from a single place is very helpful.
It is still a little early in out journey to full tell. But we are hoping to overlay temperature data with weather patterns with areas on the manufacturing floor. To be able to full tell the affect of someone using a regular door vs a garage door has on the temp of a building, or the affect of leaving on oven on between jobs, or tracking the air quality around a paint booth
Not yet, but we are hoping to soon
I was fortunate enough to finds Cisco Spaces first and found no need to look elsewhere
