Overall Satisfaction with Crownpeak Digital Quality Management (DQM)
We use the automated accessibility scans provided by Crownpeak DQM to assist with manual auditing. It is especially useful for enterprise-level organizations that have multiple digital properties. By leveraging DQM's analytical and benchmarking data, we are able to inform and create efficiencies within our manual digital accessibility process. DQM enables us to:
- Quickly assess which websites are the highest risk and have the most errors
- Gather trends and commonalities around recurring issues across multiple sites
- Have a snapshot of a customer's progress on automated accessibility remediation both across the whole organization or site-by-site
Pros
- Automated WCAG testing
- Accessibility benchmarking across an organization's total websites
- Differentiate between A, AA, and AAA issues
- Compare accessibility, SEO, and usability in order to understand how the initiatives support each other
- Easy admin functionality
- Customization capabilities
Cons
- Pages with many issues can take a longer time to load
- A more efficient manual testing process that saves us time during auditing so we can provide better value to our customers
- An enterprise-level approach empowers us to provide manual testing at scale for organizations with multiple websites
Having worked on hundreds of accessibility projects across many types and sizes of organizations, my recommendation is that Crownpeak DQM is the most effective automated accessibility testing tool for achieving the end goals of:
- Getting teams to successfully complete their remediation
- Understanding where an automated tool has limits and manual testing is required
- Meeting the WCAG guidelines
- Prioritizing issues that are the highest risk so it's clear what to address first
- Considering an organization's existing brand and visual identity
- Doesn't provide a false sense of security like other tools
