Overall Satisfaction with Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room

The business problems that the product addresses are the need to evaluate deals in the M&A space and have a secure data room for evaluation of these companies. We use the Datasite Digital Virtual Data Room (VDR) feature as buyers, downloading the initial VDR and then downloading any incremental files uploaded by the bankers on the sellside.

Pros

  • Organization of folders and ease of downloading key files
  • Well-organized system to update buyers on incremental files uploaded
  • Great interactive Q&A feature to help buyers get answers to key diligence questions

Cons

  • Better search feature within the VDR for certain files
  • Logging in after a session expiration should take you back to the sub-site you were on before
  • Enabled easier and more effective diligence processes
Datasite's VDR experience is easy to navigate for new users, and for experienced users, never materially changes such that it is hard to follow any updates that are pushed through the system.

Datasite is much better than any of its competitors - it has a more sleek, interactive, and easier interface than the other providers, and is an overall much more efficient platform than the rest. From using Datasite on both the sellside and buyside, I can confidently say it's leagues above the competition.

If you are a buyer looking to facilitate diligence on a deal, Datasite is the best VDR provider to be able to see key files, download an index to sort through key files, get questions answered, and generally enable easy communication between the sellside and buyside parties on a deal.
