Overall Satisfaction with Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room

Data repository for M&A deals. Need a place for logical storage of mass amount of files, notifications of new uploads, easy management of access to our organization and advisors.

Pros

  • Search functionality
  • Timely notifications
  • Easy downloading
  • Indexing of files

Cons

  • Ability to follow-up to closed Q&A answers without creating new question (i.e. seller marked Q&A as closed when it doesn't address your request)
  • Links to Q&A response notification emails do not work from the PC, they only work from the mobile app
  • Ability to download PDF files from mobile app
  • Is gold standard / expectation for a large M&A deal
  • More significant learning curve and inefficiencies when using competitors products (i.e. often don't get new download notification emails on intralinks)
  • Q&A functionality saves hours of M&A team time working manual excel request lists, avoids version control nightmares with bankers
Mobile app could have some improvement in UI, but web version is gold standard.
More secure, faster downloads, more intuitive to navigate, better Q&A functionality. Cost often higher though - but this doesn't impact buyer of M&A deals typically.
