Great alternative for SSMS and others
Overall Satisfaction with dbForge Studio (Edge)
I use it for database schema synchronization. I usually have to compare schemas (testing versus staging, staging versus production, different versions or releases, etc.). I also use dbForge Studio (Edge) for data migration, which is a much better alternative than SSMS import/export functions and simpler than SSIS. SQL code generation is also a big plus.
Pros
- CSV import
- schema sync
- Efffective UI for visual SQL query creation
Cons
- Multi-computer installation
- Tools for restoring databases
- I frequently find glitches that should be corrected
- help accelerate 1.5x common data migration process creation tasks
- increase productivity in versioning
- increase customer satisfaction derived from database optimization and performance tuning
- generate success stories from database optimization tasks
dbForge Studio (Edge) has much more features than other multi-platform database user interfaces, such as DBeaver or HeidiSQL, and all those features are accessible from a single user interface. SSMS is good only for MS SQL Server, so it's not good for managing multiple RDBM systems. The usefulness of the integrated features in dbForge Studio (Edge), such as the data and schema comparison/synchronization and the T-SQL debugger, make it stand out from the other products in the same category.
