Overall Satisfaction with DISCO Ediscovery

Our entire firm uses DISCO [eDiscovery] as our go-to ediscovery vendor, to review and process documents produced during discovery. It has been valuable in that role, and we continue to use it whenever possible in our cases.
  • Document review
  • Document tagging
  • Document production processing
  • It's a little tedious to search by Bates number, especially if you want to search for a specific Bates-numbered page, but don't know the Bates number of the page that begins the document.
  • DISCO definitely makes in-house document review feasible in more cases than it might otherwise be.
  • Review is usually quick and easy.
The main screen is useful. It lists the documents with columns containing "Info," "Excerpts," Bates numbers, etc. The Info and Excerpts, in particular are a valuable way to quickly eliminate some documents from a search, without having to actually fully open and review them. I'm a big fan of the build-a-search tool, too. It's hard to keep all the search terms and parameters straight between different services, and DISCO makes that easy. I appreciate that DISCO recognizes and expressly notes where there seems to be a missing document in a family/chain. That helps identify gaps and potential patterns.
The cost is predictable, which enables us to assess it and make informed decisions. It's tough to ask for more than that.
DISCO is simple and quick when it comes to reviewing, which is what I use it for. Uploading documents is generally easy, too, although typically has to go through an outside vendor.
I have not used these services.
We're a small law firm, so don't have a large support staff to handle in-house much of the ediscovery process. DISCO has enabled us to outsource portions of that, which lets our team focus on the more substantive work.

Do you think DISCO Ediscovery delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with DISCO Ediscovery's feature set?

Yes

Did DISCO Ediscovery live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of DISCO Ediscovery go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy DISCO Ediscovery again?

Yes

As with all ediscovery platforms I've encountered, DISCO is great for large-scale document reviews and productions. The value drops as the number of the documents drops. Basically, it does well what it's supposed to do.
