Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

Allows us to view drawings from customers and make modifications or create new drawings to be used for in house purposes. We use it in multiple departments within our company. It makes it possible to convert files in to multiple different formats and creates usable drawings to communicate with our customers.
  • Simple user interface.
  • Multiple file outputs.
  • Features that are similar to other drawing software reduces the learning curve.
  • Dimensioning can be tedious at times.
  • Making changes to lines and other features sometimes are not intuitive.
  • Crashes occasionally.
  • Allows one software on multiple computers that can be used by different departments.
  • Works well as a good go between with SolidWorks and Adobe.
  • Price point is good for professional drawing software.
We have only used Draftsight and upgraded from the free edition to professional.
It is suited for simple 2D drawings or importing Adobe Illustrator files to convert to other drawing software. It is also useful for accurate scaling and dimensions. The layers help create easy to read drawing files. The software is less appropriate for drawings that need to be modified significantly on a regular basis.
