Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

We discovered DraftSight about 4 years ago as a free product since we have moved to the paid version. At the time we had issues with our current AutoCAD program that continually caused error codes and crashed while in use. DraftSight worked and functioned the same as AutoCAD and saved and could read our DWG files. It was a simple and easy transition and much better value than AutoCAD.
  • Reads and save as DWG files.
  • Same commands and shortcuts as AutoCAD.
  • Can send and share with AutoCAD users.
  • Expand text style options.
  • 3D
  • Dimension tool is a little difficult to calculate and create the correct text height to be readable.
  • Able to provide DWG files and share with other professions.
  • Cost of business is lower.
In comparison, DraftEight can do anything we used AutoCAD to do in the past.
Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
DraftSight is great for sole proprietors and smaller size companies as it doesn't cost nearly as much as AutoCAD.
