Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

We draw 2D plant layouts for customers who run egg grading machines. It is being used by the e-sales department to prepare proposals.
  • Easy interface that is similar to AutoCAD, which is what I originally learned.
  • Printouts in PDF format.
  • Command info window is hidden and you always have to open it separately.
  • [DraftSight is] fairly priced, although similar 2D programs are being offered for free on the internet. This standard 2D version should be a stepping stone for customers working towards the professional version.

Similar capabilities to its competitors, but at a better price.
The standard version for MAC is perfect for 2D plant layouts for customer proposals. With every quote sent to customers, we include a PDF drawing of the plant layout for their quick reference. I do not have any other uses at the moment and it is enough for what I am using it for right now. The 3D version is not needed at this time, but in the future, we might consider using the 3D rendering of our machines.
