Overall Satisfaction with F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM)

We use F5 LTM for load balancing, making traffic decisions, offloading SSL and providing reliability and scalability for our products. We have used LTM for the past 10+ years and it has been an integral part of our environment.

  • Integrates well with our observability stack
  • has a solid record of performance and reliability
I am very comfortable with this product not only configuring it but automating it as well. There are not many configurations or situations where I do not know how to implement it on the device. I find it straightforward and easy to use.

F5 is well suited for traditional vm workloads and handling network traffic. It is very powerful when combined with iRules to manipulate and mutate traffic in flight. It's not a great fit if you have a small amount of traffic or a more sophisticated deployment like kubernetes.
