Overall Satisfaction with F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense

The solution engineers helped us implement it effectively.
We were facing a barrage of password spray attacks from bots. We were unable to distinguish between good and bad bots. The ASM only helped with rate limiting but did not help differentiate between human logins and automated logins. We used the Shape solution to do this and applied mitigation on the F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense portal. This has helped a great deal and we have scaled it to many other ecommerce platforms.

Pros

  • Baseline incoming traffic patterns
  • Clearly provide insights in sources of automated traffic
  • Excellent SOC support that alerts immediately

Cons

  • Remove the need for Irules to decorate traffic
  • Provide options to protect ecommerce applications that are NOT behind f5
  • AI assistant to explain the threats
  • Reduction of login attacks
  • Increased visibility in Google ads
  • Reduction in lost sales due to increased user confidence
The amount of business impact the F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense has helped in avoiding is phenomenal. The SOC provides alerts and is very responsive and patient with our questions.

F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense is far superior to other products in the market. A lot of other solutions focus on DDOS mitigation using volumetric analysis but F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense trumps over them with respect to anomaly detection.
