Overall Satisfaction with gINT
gINT was used as a centre for the collation and storage of all geotechnical data from site investigations and subsequently used for the generation and output of logs to be issued to Clients, Consultants and other project stakeholders. A fundamentally clumsy piece of software with many idiosyncrasies and nuances to learn before being a comfortable user. However it is highly customisable if the correct coding is known and can be quick to learn.
- Borehole logs
- Storage of geotech data.
- Customisable
- Bugs bugs bugs.
- Confusing interface.
- Split-logs cumbersome to generate.
- Central piece of software for collation and storage of all site data.
- Storage and checker of ags data.
- Professional looking logs.
- Holebase
I find Holebase much more user-friendly and intuitive although have not used for as long as gINT. It seems to handle the data in a much more reliable way and I've yet to find pesky bugs. Whilst gINT feels like a polished interface to what is in essence a simple database, Holebase feels like a bespoke piece of software.
