IBM’s Apptio is very useful for TCO reporting. Management likes the tower reporting because it can allow tech costs to be standardized across all lines of business. The cloud functionality could be better when it comes to shredding subscription costs by resource group. All in all IBM Apptio is a terrific tool.

Data ingestion is done via APIs. Modeling is done in IBM Apptio but final reporting usually ends up in Excel. Automation of cloud billing is critical for our organization as our providers become more diversified. Cloudability is being evaluated as are other options. We have kubernetes billing also that needs to automated.
The Apptio team has been very attentive throughout our proof of concept process. Our billing is complicated with both showback and chargeback. The Apptio team is always willing to help at any time, even at 4:00 on a Friday!! Looking forward to learning and collaborating with them more in the future.

This question does not apply to us at the moment. We currently only IBM Apptio exclusively. We are in proof of concept with IBM Cloudability. We are also evaluating other options and providers. We are aall so evaluating Flexera. Automating cloud billing is a major priority for our organization this year.

We use IBM Apptio exclusively for application TCO reporting. It compiles data from different sources then export to Excel to customize report for the user. Our intention is to start a TCO dashboard within IBM Apptio, so Excel is no longer required and leadership can drill down. We are also trying to fully automate our cloud billing.
