Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage
I only use it for my learning section via Courser. IBM Cloud looks very similar to some competitor's products. However, there are a few companies have a much larger market share in the cloud space.
- No credit card information needed for a free account.
- Simple to use.
- Fewer users.
- It's been a positive implementation overall.
I have not yet used such a function in IBM Cloud but it sounds very interesting. My company is currently using other products for a similar purpose.
Well, the effectiveness of data transfers to and from Cloud Object Storage is definitely very important since the speed of data is always very critical to data scientists.
The different class tiers for active, cool, cold and dynamic data from IBM Cloud Object Storage offers is very important for a company to reduce the cloud storage fee and find the most suitable service for the need of the company and by having this feature, an organization can be more effectively manage costs.
- Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service), Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and Amazon Glacier
Well for my self, the IBM Cloud Object Storage is required for the Coursera course and fee to use without credit card information, therefore, it is a no brainer for me to use as an individual. The IBM Cloud Object Storage has all cloud computing services that the major competitors do, and provides good services.

IBM Cloud Support and Implementation
The implementation of IBM Cloud Object Storage is on the cloud which means you do not need to install any software. All you need is to login with your platform account via any web browser, which is pretty standard in the industry comparing with aws s3. Then you can generate instance for IBM Cloud Object Storage.
Premium - Since my company is such a large company, the tool is covering very large scale and does not make sense to go with cheaper options. If I am going to use IBM Cloud support for my own personal project, I would definitely use the basic support, which should cover all my needs.
Whenever I need support, it has been very easy to reach out to them via email, despite sometime answer they gave is not exactly what we really need.
- IBM Cloud Docs
- Ability to check uptime status for IBM Cloud products
- Contributing to the IBM Developer community
- Access to IBM and Developer communities through Stack Overflow or GitHub
- IBM Cloud product demos and tutorial videos
- Chat with Watson
The IBM Cloud Docs and IBM Cloud product demos and tutorial videos are very good source to get initial start up help and basic understanding of the tool. The documentation is very detail and you can get most of the general information from there. In terms of any specific help, stack overflow is the place.
