We do not use it, but it can be very helpful with large objects and high latency network connections.

Alternatives Considered

MinIO and Red Hat Ceph Storage

IBM COS comes as appliance. Overall slightly better performance for our workload type then MinIO or ceph. Easier managment.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited: Archives, backup repositories, digital multimedia asset repository, web applications.

Less appropriate: Online Hi I/O low service time storage, file access.

IBM COS is a nice product/service!
