Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage
IBM Cloud is being used in our test environment to both demo products to clients and store test data/applications which we haven't finished testing yet. It allows us an easy way of separating out our production environment and test/lab environments without causing any issues.
- Works better than an AWS S3 Bucket.
- Easier to set up than S3.
- Faster to set up than S3.
- Layout and design could be improved.
- Difficult to find.
- Difficult to configure when not using pre-configured.
- Positive overall.
The SQL query is useful when using storage cloud for backing up SQL and similar databases, not very useful for ElasticSearch data which is stored in NoSQL
Data transfer is relatively good, it could be faster.
The flexibility of the pricing is very good but can ramp up quickly if you're not careful.
- AWS Backup and AWS Lambda
I am happy to use both, my preference is AWS but IBM Is an excellent alternative if you don't want as much stress about IAM roles as AWS
