Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage

I use IBM storage myself, not in my organization. I use it to store data files and python notebooks.
  • Fast.
  • Free account option for individual users.
  • More detailed support documents.
  • More instructions on the interface.
  • Free individual user account.
  • Easy to monitor the usage.
It is helpful. Simple queries can be run directly without exporting any data. It helps with fast data standard SQL syntax. It saves time and resources, with very low latency. It also saves the effort to define any schema or do any ETL. Because it’s on the cloud so the computation power can be used with high scalability.
The speed of file transfer is high between Cloud Object Storage and IBM Aspera. It's also easy to configure the file migration because the function is natively integrated into Aspera and the cloud storage. It also has functions that support easy collaboration, and file transfer process automation. The size of the data is less of a concern with this functionality because it's technology to work with large files, big data and streaming capability.
Yes. There are much data that was useful at [one] time but doesn't need to be retrieved or updated frequently anymore. The different storage class tiers options can be a factor we consider when designing the data storage strategy as well to save cost on the cloud, and also save internal human resource.
I chose IBM Cloud Object Storage for my personal account because it's free and also doesn't need credit card to register. I also found that IBM Cloud Object Storage is easy to understand. I signed up for IBM data science courses on Coursera which has a lot of helpful resource to help me get started on IBM Cloud Object Storage.
It’s well suited if the organization is using IBM products in general.
It's less appropriate when the organization is mainly using Google, AWS, or Azure. I found the service provided by these services are more or less similar so it’s really a matter of choosing ecosystem. It seems to me that IBM products are not as widely used as these platforms.
