Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage

I find IBM Cloud [Object] Storage as a very cost-effective solution. I would greatly recommend it to someone who is about to start their cloud journey because of its flexibility in learning and easy-to-use interface. It is highly scalable as compared to traditional storage which is there on the market and it also can store up to a large petabyte & exabytes of data. Our organization uses the IBM Watson Assistance chatbot to help our customers better guide through our website. It greatly helps by solving our real-time customer's issues with ease. A few issues we faced while running the services were adding multiple concurrent connection operations. Apart from that, it's very reliable and a great service which IBM provides.
  • Cloud storage allows you to save data and files in an off-site location that you access either through the public internet or a dedicated private network connection.
  • Cloud storage delivers a cost-effective, scalable alternative to storing files on on-premise hard drives or storage networks.
  • Cloud storage services provide elasticity, which means you can scale capacity as your data volumes increase or dial down capacity if necessary.
  • Business continuity of Storing data offsite supports business continuity in the event that a natural disaster or terrorist attack cuts access to your premises.
  • Security concerns are common with cloud-based services.
  • Offloading maintenance and management to a third party offers advantages but also can limit your control over your data.
  • Delays in data transmission to and from the cloud can occur as a result of traffic congestion, especially when you use shared public internet connections.
  • Regulatory compliance
I am using IBM Cloud Object Storage to work on projects that will enable me to obtain a Data Science Certificate from Coursera in order to expand the consulting capabilities of the company. I plan to continue using it professionally in my consulting work. IBM Cloud Object Storage is awesome for storing data from web pages that you need to manipulate or display in different ways. Your data is stored with the latest security measures. The time to load your data is incredibly fast for the price point. Backup versions in the cloud are extremely valuable.
An ideal solution for moving large amounts of data from your on-premises facilities to the IBM Cloud®. Increase overall productivity by reducing the time it takes to transfer and store your data. Customers can drag, drop and upload files and folders. Transfer speeds are faster than HTTP, so data will continue to transfer even if the browser closes. IBM Cloud Object Storage Aspera high-speed data transfer overcomes the limitations of TCP transfers to improve performance under most conditions. Upload any amount of data ingress at no cost. A low-cost, tiered pricing applies for downloads. Standard storage costs apply.
Smart Tier is designed for the changing nature of data. It stores your ever-changing data without cost overruns and automatically bills at the optimal storage rate each month. Automatic cost optimization for your storage is applied using a built-in pricing tier classification based on your data activity. First, Smart Tier analyzes your monthly activity. Then you're billed at the Hot, Cool or Cold rate based on the amount of storage and access. There are no retrieval charges, no minimum object size, no minimum duration requirement — and no other overhead charges¹.

I would highly recommend IBM FileNet Content Manager to anyone who has needs that align with the following constraints. A client who needs highly resilient storage for content such as documents, media files, etc. A client who has a skilled support team that can perform periodic maintenance tasks on FileNet servers, WebSphere, and databases.
Acoustic Analytics (formerly IBM Watson Customer Experience Analytics), IBM Watson Assistant, IBM DataPower Gateway
Building enterprise-grade data solutions with large teams. Where an all-in-one platform is needed to solve complex problems that require an ecosystem of tools to work together. Where IBM services already exist in the business Projects where scalability, security, and technology integration are key drivers. Scenarios where IBM Cloud Object Storage is not well suited: Small teams with small budgets may be better off using open source tools
* Solving niche industry problems that require niche solutions.
