IBM FlashSystem works GREAT!

It is being used by two of our major applications to provide high availability, uptime, and fast processing.

We've seen major performance improvements. Application backups that took hours before moving to flash now take minutes.

We use compression for all of our LUNs and it helps us to save money by reducing the storage utilization.

We utilize the enterprise offerings. Specifically the IBM V9000. We have 6 of these storage arrays between multiple sites. We use the replication feature that is included with the product to help provide disaster recovery for our critical applications. This technology has proven to be very beneficial to our organization and has helped our team to provide great value to our customers.

The flexibility provided by the SVC product allows for the ability to have a mix of different storage platforms from different vendors. This allows for more variety and the ability to setup Tiering. This is important in the area of cost savings because it allows us to contain less critical data on slower storage platforms. Every application does not need Flash storage.

Our IBM business partner InfoSys helped with the purchasing and implementation of our FlashSystem storage environment. They provided great value to our organization by providing the expertise needed to make the best decision to help us to achieve our goals of providing greater performance to our customers. InfoSys helped to setup and configure the equipment and provided documentation and support.
