Use Cases and Deployment Scope

IBM Flash System 5000 is used by our large department for reliable storage. Originally, our storage system was limiting our potential data growth and we needed to expand as soon as possible. IBM made this possible with these arrays and we have been very pleased with our experience. I have not had an array fail on me yet.

Dell EMC SC Series (Compellent)

We went with IBM FlashSystem 5000 because of the brand. We have had better experiences with IBM FlashSystem 5000 and their products in the last. In comparison, we have had several Dell products that have given us regular issues that swayed us away from using them again. It was the right decision to go with IBM.

Likelihood to Recommend

IBM FlashSystem 5000 is well suited for work issues in which you need a large amount of storage for a large group of people (I.e., storing lots of data from multiple source points). A scenario in which it is less appropriate would be one where the read/write speed of the flash system is not fast enough to write all the data at a reasonable speed.
