Overall Satisfaction with IBM FlashSystem

IBM FlashSystem 5000 is an amazing storage solution that has helped our business grow. It has helped us doing a storage refresh while being on a tight budget. It has also greatly helped our finance department to help them with backend storage and that in turn helps our business customers in providing better billing.

Pros

  • It's extremely reliable
  • Has NVMe option which is way faster than conventional SSD's
  • It's pretty easy to setup and use

Cons

  • Overall size is huge
  • Little tricky tp expand storage
  • Lack of proper analytics/statistics on usage
  • Saves a lot of time on management of the device
  • Simple to use which again saves time on training users
  • Data access is extremely fast with low latency
We evaluated V7K which offers almost similar performance but the price of IBM FlashSystem 5000 blows everything out of the water.
IBM FlashSystem 5000 is well suited for companies that require a high-performance storage system on a tight budget. It works well for data storage, backups and disaster recovery. Overall the cost to benefit ratio with this product is very good and there are very few similar products in the market.
