Global Performace monitoring of our server fleet.
We need to run our applications with the right amount of resources, to small means problems, to big means wasting of money.
So we want to run our data centers more efficiently.

Pros
- Lots of metrics provided out of the box
- Made some servers with too small memory visible
- Insights into our dc infrastructure
Cons
- SAP Netweaver Java has sometimes problems with IBM Instana running
- Agent updates reset our sap specific agent configuration for SAP HANA and ABAP
- There were rumors that we use too many resources for monitoring, HW and people
- we are still in the first stages of rollout
lots of data with minimal setup, first insights almost instantly
hopefully better resource management
