We consolidated older Power 5 and Power 6 systems into Power9 and offered them as a shared platform to run applications for various business units.
- Manageability, high availability features
- Scalability: our company consolidated the environment into Power9 and deployed Power9 as our shared infrastructure, and Power9 was able to scale across all platforms.
- Micro-partitioning, shared CPU and storage pool.
- Power9 communicates with our three business centers, reducing the cost of maintaining different data centers.
- Central management
- VIOS: it has a lot of capabilities, but there is always room to improve. I look at it as the brain of the system, so there are always business problems to be solved that could make the system smarter, e.g. GUI interface.
