Overall Satisfaction with IBM Security Guardium

We use IBM Security Guardium as a database vulnerability assessment tool which will actively monitor potential threats, including insider threats at the database level. IBM Security Guardium not only checks against local compliance standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, CCPA, etc. but also alerts the security engineers in case of unauthorized access to the databases.

The tool is definitely easy to use, but the bunch of modules that are present in IBM Security Guardium and the interdependency makes it a little difficult to manage from an administrator standpoint. There are a lot of functionalities present in the tool which are impactful in decision-making for the management.

IBM Security Guardium has definitely helped us implement better security controls and improve the security posture of the organization when it comes to database security. There are limited tools out in the market that are specific for database security and IBM Security Guardium is definitely the leader among them all.
IBM Security Guardium provides many more features and capabilities than all the other tools evaluated for this decision. To begin with, there are limited databases that are supported by other database security tools. None of the other evaluated tools have the ability to mask the sensitive data.

IBM Security Guardium is the last line of defense against attackers, including insider threats. IBM Security Guardium helps in analyzing and reporting on database activity from both a compliance and security standpoint, provides evidence for breach investigations, and alerts on suspicious events. The ability to create customized detections is a plus.
