IBM WebSphere Hybrid Edition is a fundamental part of our institution because most of core applications are running on it, WAS (WebSphere Application Server) provides us with a stable and secure platform to all environments, avoiding business service disruptions, and reducing incidents.The platform reliability ensures our business areas have uninterruptable access that allows its tools to operate smoothly. Additionally, using Liberty Profile we have reduced our licensing costs, and IT resources too, while maintaining the product's robustness at a better cost, About Support the SME are helping us to resolve issues swiftly and guided us toward optimal solutions

  • Support high volumen requests on production environment
  • Support multiples development standard like (EE,JSE,Servlets,)
  • Support high availability clustering the applications

Cons

  • Which includes any tools to obtain performance metrics
  • Improve product documentation
  • Provide an administration interface in liberty profile
  • Licensing costs are reduced by using Liberty Profile
  • Migration from tradicional WAS(8.x,9x) to Liberty profiles implies manual configuration that most be automated
  • IT costs are reduced by using Liberty Profile, because Liberty is a lightweight runtime
WAS is a robust solution that allows the administration of multiple applications in a simple way, the MQ, JDBC, SSL, Single Sign On, etc. configurations are controlled in a single user interface, this allows reducing configuration times. Additionally, from the administration console you have access to documentation and guides that provide help for the configuration of the components.
Websphere Liberty has a cloud ready runtime, embebed with a Developlment standards like spring, ee standards
