Overall Satisfaction with IBM Z

Reliable server which never fails, and has great disaster recovery offerings, is the definition of virtualisation, hence "the" cloud itself.

Yes, this is the mainframe, and yes, I am a mainframer.

  • Managing a mainframe is much efficient than managing many small systems. TCO.
  • Reliability. The service availability of the applications on the mainframe is incomparably better than the others.
  • Business continuity solutions always work on the mainframe. On all Disaster Recovery tests, mainframe did more in a smaller time. Always.

When you need to run a huge number of transactions against big data, reliably, with the minimum total cost of ownership, the solution is the mainframe. If you can build a knowledgeable team around the mainframe, it rocks. Instead of running the serious workload on many, many, many small systems, which is hard to manage by all means of required SMEs, even Datacenter costs, just learn IBM Z and run your workload on the mainframe.
