Overall Satisfaction with JReport

We use embedded JReport in our application and also as a standalone mode. Our customers must have a robust reporting platform for managing, designing ad-hoc reports, scheduling, and publishing report information to end-users. JReport provides us a customized solution and a platform that is very easy to deploy and/or upgrade.
  • Easy deployment.
  • Ad-hoc, analytic solutions.
  • Report distribution.
  • Too many design properties.
  • Consistency with design of the business views.
We used BusinessObjects before they were acquired by SAP, after which we were disappointed with their pricing practices.
JReport is well suited for any application that requires embedding of reports and also for it's stand-alone server. I do no see any scenario where it is less suited for use.
