Overall Satisfaction with Kendo UI
It is used in our front end for customer portals we develop that are primarily used by our customer's clients that need to access information from their internal systems.
- Strong grid component
- Examples on using the components are often very light on content and often do not provide any description of why they work or how to make them do more than the most basic operations.
- Trying to figure out what has to be changed to modify CSS values is a very complex issue and even the theme generators provided for use with it do not address how to modify many of the component colors and styles.
- It provides the components we need for our UI setup, the problem has been finding out how to do even simple things can take far longer than doing the actual programming of the component.
We evaluated a wide range of other component sets, was several years ago so do not remember the names right now. The decision was based on the available components and cost. Most of the other components sets had less capabilities in their components or cost significantly more.
In all honesty, Kendo was chosen by being the product with the least problems in relation to our development process. The documentation remains its biggest problem to more widespread inclusion in our development projects.
