Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF

It is great for putting together Board packages where you have 10-20 documents to combine into one document. Also, in doing escrow documents I can type into most forms. I know there has to be a way to capture an area and erase it but I haven't figured it out yet. It is a great program and shortly after I got here, I told my boss it would pay for itself after about the third time I used it.
  • Combining documents as it accepts several different types of docs.
  • Typing in documents if someone hasn't lock that with a PDF.
  • If you have a scan of several docs you can separate them into separate docs easily.
  • You can erase specific pages in a document.
  • In PDFEscape it was really easy to capture an area and erase it. Now I can't figure out how cause they changed their program. All you did was highlight an area and hit delete or click on erase or something like that. Kofax may already have this but I haven't found out how.
  • When you are typing, if you change to another area the font changes to the size it was. It should stay the same size as where you last typed.
  • I used to have to make all the docs to combine pdf's first. Now I don't have to. Lots of time saving.
  • I told my boss that just being able to make large docs like the CC&R's of a community a Word document for searches would pay for the program after the 2nd or 3rd one I did.
  • Being able to type into PDF's looks so much more professional that writing the answers and having to scan the doc to send it to an escrow company.
I may not have spent enough time just playing with it to learn how to use many of the features so I am probably not the right person to answer this. I need to spend 1/2 day learning all the features.
They have change PDFEscape so now I can hardly use it. Kofax is very easy to use for what I do with it.

Combining docs, editing PDF's, deleting pages from a document.
The program probably does a lot more than I am using it for. Already mentioned combining of documents and typing into documents. The other thing I use it for is changing a PDF to a MSWord document that I can then do searches in. As with any program using optical recognition the cleanliness of the text affect how well this will work.
