Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF

We use this as a regular pdf tool, to view, edit, and e-sign pdfs.
  • Typewriter functionality is great, although can take some time to load. This allows you to fill in text wherever applicable without turning the rest of the pdf into editable text.
  • Fast load times
  • Has autogenerated text feature so anything in the pdf can become editable
  • Their e-signature functionality is lacking. One user had a photo of their e-signature which was put onto the document through an e-sign option. To rescale the image, there was a tiny box outline and the corner of the box to resize it would not recognize the mouse hovering over it. This caused a long process of trying to get it to resize the image instead of moving the entire photo. The box which registers the resize needs to be larger so this is not an issue, and one does not have to try to find the "sweet spot" for it to recognize.
  • Cost savings due to it being a one time payment and not a recurring monthly payment.
  • Their support still helps even if you purchased the product a long time ago with a one time payment, which is not the same for every company.
  • They help transfer the local license from one pc to another, their support, which helps the process and also saving money so you do not need to buy it again.
I would agree, the UI is pretty self explanatory, so it is not confusing. Tabs are well defined and icons and labels are easy to read under the tab sections. I would say this does not do a better or worse job as compared to other products, it is just unique in its color scheme and where it puts certain features. This is similar to other pdf platforms.
We have had instances where we've used the other two products. Adobe did not offer a one time payment at the time so we did not go with that one. Most users currently use Foxit. I would not say that Foxit nor Kofax really beat each other out, some prefer one or the other based on when they started using it.
Their support is great and responds quickly to any problems. They also have phone and email support which is not always available at other pdf companies. I would say they have great support so it is worth keeping this in mind, when you need to move the license to a new pc you want a good support team in case their are any issues.

Adobe Acrobat, Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom)
Their type writer feature is great, allowing text to be entered where you want it. You can also make all of the pdf turn into text which is a great tool. They also offer buckets, where the text is kept in editable squares, which is a unique feature I have not found in other tools.
PDF editing tools are quite competitive. Kofax does a great job making things easy to find with a good layout. It is also a one time payment which I think is an area that other pdf tools do not always offer an option for. This is a reason why kofax pdf should be a contender when comparing it to the other pdf tools. Their type writing tool is also great, when we needed to use it to fill in information on a specific line it was able to recognize where the line was and put the text entry right above it, some tools do not do a good job with this. It also provides an option to turn all text into editable text, keeping spacing/boxing text vs making everything text, which was a unique feature. It needs some usability/improvement with its e-signature portion. I think that will give it a much higher rating.
