Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

It is being used by the Project Management team. It allows easy combination of word documents to generate proposals. We use it to make comments and highlight areas within the .pdf. I believe there is considerable time savings by combing documents with this program then if the Word document program was used itself.

Pros

  • Combine Word documents into one .pdf.
  • Add, remove, and change the order of pages in the .pdf.
  • Easy to add highlights and comments.

Cons

  • Quicker .pdf generation from .doc. Seems a little slower then Adobe
  • Time savings.
It is easy to use for the document manipulation of a .pdf.
Adobe is a little quicker in generating a .pdf from a .doc.
I have not had an issue to contact support for.

The document manipulation has been the most valuable feature to my department.
Our biggest example is the ease in combining documents into one .pdf.

Using Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

2 - Project Managers and Sales. Used mostly for quote generation.
1 - Only updates and reinstalls.
  • Quote generation
  • .pdf editing
  • Document merging
  • Editing .pdf instead of having to recreate
  • Inserting pictures
  • Editing all .pdf instead of recreating
May look at adobe.
