Overall Satisfaction with Lawson (Intentia)

Lawson is used as an ERP for Financial Accounting for a large part of the product verticals (except Manufacturing Plants where MFG PRO is used).

It meets the Financial Accounting requirements of our organization with a lower cost of ownership. The application has been largely customized to suit our requirements. The reporting capabilities are met by taking the data to a separate Data Warehouse and reports are built on top of it with a near real-time feed from ERP.

  • Activity-based accounting.
  • Fiscal ledger and management ledger reporting.
  • Shared cost allocations.
  • Reporting capabilities with mobility options.
  • Flexibility to multiple hierarchical reporting.
  • Lower cost of ownership.
  • Easier to train the users.
We have used Lawson for over15 years. I'm not sure what products were reviewed when Lawson was implemented. We migrated from AS/400 to Lawson for most of our product verticals/geographies. Lawson is easier to use compared with other ERPs, perhaps due to the fact it has been used for many years and we have a well-matured user base.
Lawson, as a Financial Accounting System, meets the expectations with a lower cost of ownership. The license cost, implementation cost, and sustaining efforts are much lower compared with other major players and it can be well suited for small, medium and large companies.

Infor is not substantially investing in upgrading Lawson to meet the next generation reporting needs including automation, mobility, and integration to consolidation.

Lawson (Intentia) Support

The support is satisfactory, given the large user base of the product. We had no issues to meet our reporting deadlines with Lawson. The organizational support team internally are well trained and hence only on exceptional basis issues are escalated to Lawson support team. We had no negative experience so far with the support of Lawson.

Using Lawson (Intentia)

It meets most of the reporting requirements and ability to use the system easily. We like the simple interfaces for the users and ability to perform mass journal entry uploads. The Master data is easy to consume by users, including Chart of Accounts structure, Accounting Units, Cost Centers. The Activity based reporting feature is useful.
