Overall Satisfaction with Linode

We use Linode for hosting internal web services that power our business operations (file syncing, mail server, etc) as well as to host web properties for ourselves and clients.

Pros

  • Value.
  • Performance.
  • User friendly management GUI.
  • Robust CLI.
  • Customer support.

Cons

  • Network effect: not popular across the industry for service stacks.
  • Keeps our costs low.
  • Agile scaling horizontally or vertically.
Better performance and value than AWS or GCP.
Support has been consistently responsive, helpful and knowledgeable.
I love Linode. It's cost competitive with the best performance for the money. Customer support is great, but I have a hard time selling Linode to companies interested in microservice architecture for a large engineering organization due to the network effect of competitors such as AWS and GCP.
