Overall Satisfaction with Linode

It's been used by a department. We use it for deployment of software written in Java and with the use of Docker.

Pros

  • Fast bandwidth.
  • Up-to-date packages.
  • Many options for operating systems.

Cons

  • No GUI for every distro.
  • Faster CPU on nano Linode.
  • Quick time to value.
  • Speedy recovery of lost data.
Every time I needed support and asked a question the technician would reply very fast. Excellent support.
I pay little money for a nano Linode and have a good result for my applications. Linode also provides instructions on how to secure your server with tools like fail-2-ban and firewalls.
I never experienced a downtime on my Linode. It's been always up PLUS I can always monitor the bandwidth I've spent every month so I can keep a track.
Well suited for fast deployment when used with automation tools like Bitbucket pipelines.
Maybe not the best solution for people who are willing to pay little amount of money but have mid to large scale applications to deploy
