Overall Satisfaction with Linode
We use Linode for all of our production Web and API hosting, powering not only our websites and apps, but our customers websites and apps. Linode enables us to host all of our public facing systems on secure and scalable Linux based system, with minimal downtime and well documented (and so easily preparable for) network outage windows.

- More geo-located options.
- Improved customer retention from high uptime.
- Reduced implementation costs from being able to put a solution to market quickly because of Linode's ease of use.
- Improved profitability because of low provider costs.
Linode is cheaper, but also far less complicated. Cost calculation is straightforward, unlike Azure, so it is simple to create projections for how much a solution will cost to deploy. Even though I get free Azure credits through my partner agreement with Microsoft, I selected Linode because of its low cost, ease of use, high uptime, and built in perimeter security.
Linode has worked out significantly cheaper than its competitors, over the total lifespan of a deployed solution. Not only hosting cost, but the simplicity of the management console and low cost of transferring data to another server in the same data centre has meant that I have spent less time maintaining our systems on Linode than I would have needed to with other providers.
As Linode is our primary public facing provider, uptime is critical. We trust our customers with Linode's network, and have not been let down once. Even if you do not develop a geo-distributed solution, their network downtime or maintenance outages has been so infrequent that I no events come to mind - of course they happened - they were just so insignificant that they did not make me take note. Compare this to the frequent outages I still experience with Azure, and you can see why I go with Linode.

Using Linode
1 - We leave our Linode account in the hands of our server administrator. Because Linode's platform specializes on the platform components, not application layer, our server administrator is able to maintain and manage this layer with minimal crossover with the development side of the business. Invoices are sent via email, so our billing department does not need to access Linode's portal either.
1 - We really only need one server administrator to manage our Linode account. Linode's cloud manager is optimized for server administrators and DevOps developers, and is quite uncomplicated. Although it is quite powerful and allows a reasonable scope of configuration, it requires no additional knowledge beyond basic server administration skills and Linux knowledge.
