Overall Satisfaction with Linode

We use Linode Compute and Storage services for both internal and client solutions. It provides a flexible and cost-effective platform for our development, testing, and production environments.

Pros

  • Flexibility to easily move between the various sizes of compute products as required.
  • Simple and clear cost effective pricing, no hidden charges.
  • Rock solid performance.
  • Continuing development in their APIs to improve automation which saves time and improves consistency.

Cons

  • Support could be better but have rarely had to use it.
  • Reduction in capital investment for both us and our clients.
  • No wasted resources.
  • Improved scalability for customer needs -> customer satisfaction and retention.
Plus other providers. To be fair, there is little to differentiate them from Linode. AWS has been evaluated but seemed overly complex and the pricing model was too complicated. We like to be transparent with customers and Linode's pricing model (and others to be fair) offers that.
On the rare occasion support has been needed, it has not been as quick as other providers we have used in the past. However, their price point is much lower so you get what you pay for.
Easy to provision and delete resources as required, allowing control of costs and reducing complexity.
